Loki slipped out the back door of Impresio into the dark alley ahead. Another day, another job done. It had been awhile since the young shapeshifter had been to Impresio Nightclub. The last time he had been here it had been to have a bit of fun with Azazel. It had been fun, at least the little bits that he could remember had been alright. But tonight he hadn't gone there to have fun, it was to work. Loki hadn't been in the club too long, he only came to drop off a special package and then be on his way. Now that the job was done he was free to leave. He was more than happy to leave the place, the night was young but the boy wasn't feeling to pumped up to do anything exciting. All he wanted to do was go home and relax, maybe do a little cooking, lay down on the couch and watch some anime on his laptop, or spend some time with Weylyn before Azazel came back home. It wasn't much but lately the boy preferred keeping it easy at home after work or on his days off. Loki pulled out his cellphone to check the time. “Looks like I finished early for once.” the boy mused.
There wasn't a lot of activity going on today. The boy received only a few assignments today and all of them had been rather quick and easy to do. He didn't get anything else, no texts or missed messages about extra work so as far as he was concerned he was done for the day. Loki sighed before pocketing his cellphone and heading off down the empty alley. Less work meant less pay, it was a little disappointing but there was nothing he could do about it. It was just one slow day, that didn't mean anything. There could be plenty of work later on in the week. At least he got something out of it for his time. Getting extra time to relax back home was just a bonus. Now he just needed to make it back safely. That sometimes proved to be a task that was a little harder to accomplish for Loki than he would like to admit. Ever since he started living in New Orlands he had made some rather dangerous enemies. One of which he was ill equipped to deal with.
That person in question happened to be the worse enemy he ever had to face. In the past Loki's enemies had been humans, they were dangerous creatures but still beings that he could deal with, usually by keeping his head low, or just outsmarting them. But this new threat was different. This thing was not a human, no, he was far more dangerous than that. Loki was still smarter than the bastard but he didn't have anything close to his strength and that worried him. Even now that he had some training and upgraded his arsenal just to deal with the vicious brute he wasn't all that confident that he could take him on in a one on one fight. It had been awhile since he had last seen that hellhound but he knew it was only a matter of time before the damn beast found him again. If Loki wanted to avoid him it was best to get out into the streets as soon as possible.
Yet Loki didn't bother making his exit out onto the streets. Guillotine wasn't the only person he wanted to avoid. Going out on the streets meant a chance meeting with Blake. Just thinking about the human female made the shifter's heart ache. His last encounter with the woman bothered him greatly. He felt terrible for the pain he put her through but there was nothing he could do about it. Leaving her was the best thing he could do for her, yet by doing so he still managed to hurt the woman. He couldn't bear seeing her again after that. Even if that meant taking the risk of running into Gil again. Loki pulled his hood over his head and continued down the alley. He was screwed no matter what he did, but for now he didn't want to think about it. All he wanted to do was get home so he could distract himself and forget about everything else in his life. Hopefully nothing bad would happen to change that.

It was that time of the year again.
The time were all the hellhounds come out to play. Love was in the air and Guillotine could smell it. Females were in heat. This was the scent that pulled Gil out of the house that evening. Guillotine had picked up on this invisible come hither signal while he was outside smoking a cigarette. The pheromones streamed into his nose and of course he couldn't help himself. He welcome the smell. It was as if his very being was screaming for him to find the female in question. For as far as Gil knew only one had decided to leave her calling card at his door step. Gil had to seek out the owner of such a lovely scent. He should have known it would only lead to trouble. The female hound did go through the trouble of visiting him in a human neighborhood. Why not return the favor? Her smell was all over the yard. The sneaky bitch must have visited the house the night before while he and Jesse were asleep. Perhaps she knew a hellhound lived there? Well, Gil did make a habit of marking his territory so this shouldn't have been too surprising.
After getting dressed Guillotine quickly walked out of the house. He was so eager to leave that he forgotten to take his medication. Gil was so intrigued by the scent of this bold female he didn’t even bother to lock the door behind him either. With a flash he was already leaving the neighborhood. If Guillotine’s head wasn’t firmly attached to his body chances were he would have left that behind too. It didn’t take long for Gil to follow the scent into the city. He got off lucky today. The bitch’s scent was fresh. She was still in the city limits.
This smell was strong enough for him to follow into an alley. After trotting down a maze like alley way the hellhound finally crept up onto what he was looking for. In the distance sat a lovely looking hound. She looked like a large fluffy white wolf with spiral horns coming from her head. She looked far too big to be an average dog. The hellhound was really taking a gamble here. Why on earth was she willing to do this in a place where humans could see them? Suppose, love made you do crazy things?
As soon as the female laid eyes on Gil she bounded over to him. With her tongue flopping out of her mouth she ran full speed towards Guillotine. The male stood there for a moment but once he realized she wasn’t going to stop he decided it would be best to just transform now. It was better than getting nearly ran over by a large fluffy beast. Taking a step back the hellhound transformed before the smaller hound ran into him. It wasn’t enough to knock the large beast on his ass but it did cause him to stumble. The spunky hellhound that sat before him was ecstatic. She almost didn't even wait for Gil to transform before pouncing on him. After regaining her balance the bitch bounced around him like a love sick rabbit. Her tail wagged fiercely behind her and she nipped at Guillotine’s pointed ears. A low grumble crept from Gil. Her teasing was starting to annoy him. At one point she tried to get Gil to chase her but the hound stayed put. She wandered back over to him and nudged the side of his face in an attempt to get Gil to do something. The male did not budge. At this moment there was a war going on in Guillotine’s head. He was so hell bent on coming down here to meet this hellhound and now he was having second thoughts. Apart of him wanted to take her right then and there, but the other half was keeping him from doing so. Akeelah’s face suddenly came to mind. He couldn’t do this...
Soon a different kind of lust filled Gil’s blood red eyes. This lust wasn’t for sex, rather, it was for blood. With Akeelah’s crying face still fresh in his mind Guillotine wanted to liberate anything that stood in the way of him being happy with her. If he were to give the hellhound what she wanted he could kiss his possible relationship with Akeelah goodbye. This female hellhound was tempting him. He would get rid of the female in order to stop this instinctual pull towards her. Gil could already feeling himself yearning to be with the member of the same species. However that dreadful day in the woods had made him think otherwise. When the female reared up to put her paws around Guil’s neck in a playful manner, he finally snapped.
A loud shriek erupted from the female's jaws when Guillotine's fangs dug into the side of her face. This attack had come from nowhere and caught the female hound off guard. Guillotine made quick work of the furred flesh. Pushing against the female he reared up onto his back legs and continued to bite her. With each and every chomp a new wave of flavor entered the hellhound’s mouth. For a moment he was relishing the taste. Soon the two toppled over onto the ground with Guillotine on top of her. The poor female was kicking and clawing at her attacker but it did little to no good. When Gil finally got a good grip on her maw he tore into it. His fangs barely left any skin to hang from her bones. He grabbed bits of blooded flesh from her body before tossing it aside. With his prey flailing the beast finally grabbed her by the head. Guillotine would finally end this struggle. With one bite a loud pop echoed through the alley. He stood there now with the twitching body in his mouth. Blood and bits of brain matter flooded from his jaws and pooled onto the ground below. Hellhound or not this female was as good as dead once Gil got her in his jaws. This bitch pushed him over the edge and paid the price.
Here Guillotine thought he had stopped his killing ways since he joined the PIDA. Boy, was he wrong. Granted, he had yet to kill a human in at least a year. Suppose he should at least be proud of that? The only thing he really prayed on nowadays was animals. Would this one death push him back down that path? Should he treat his fellow hound like the other animals he’d killed? Dripping the corpse the hell beast turned away from it. Feeling a bit guilty now that it was all over he began to walk away. That was when footsteps could be heard. The beast’s ear’s twitched. His heart nearly skipped a beat. He wasn’t alone. Guillotine’s large head snapped around to see who was coming. With his pointed ears pricked forward the hellhound stood firm. He lifted his head up in an attempt to get a scent. But alas, the wind was blowing in the wrong direction. Just who had decided to pay him a visit? He’d find out soon enough.

Loki was in for a bit of a walk in order to get back home safely. Thankfully he would save some time on traveling where he currently was. While alleyways did have some dangerous downsides they did have their benefits. They were far less crowded than the streets, making it less of a hassle wasting time trying to move through a large crowd of strangers, and they were overall great for making shortcuts for where you wanted to go. Provided that you knew where you were going through them. Luckily Loki knew exactly where he was going. He had spent enough time in this part of the city to know how to navigate through this maze of an alley. For the moment there were no downsides sticking this place. He could avoid any chance of running into Blake if he stayed here, he would make it back home faster, and it was quiet.
Ah yes, it was quiet. That was a good sign. Quiet meant that there wasn't any trouble, and no trouble was a god send for this little shifter. Loki's life was always full of trouble. It seemed that no matter what Loki did he always wound up getting into trouble. Perhaps that was just his fate? Plenty of bad things had happened to him in his past that he could almost believe that it was a part of his fate. At least tonight wouldn't be much trouble for him. At the rate he was going tonight might be another peaceful night. That was what it looked like, yet Loki didn't feel at peace. There was a nagging feeling going on at the back of his mind that made him feel a little uneasy. He had been having too many peaceful nights for this to stay a trend. Something was bound to happen eventually. The boy always kept that thought hovering around in the back of his mind every single day since Amalia's death, but every once in awhile that thought screamed at him louder than it usually did, normally when he went too long without some kind of incident.
That feeling was coming back now. It started making him second guess himself. Was it really a good idea for him to do this? Sure he didn't want to run into Blake again, but a little bit of emotional drama was better than being dead wasn't it? There were plenty of things that had happened in his past that made Loki wish that he was dead instead of being alive, but that incident with Blake was not one of those things. He was being foolish doing this wasn't he? Now that he thought about it wasn't it a little too quiet here? Quiet didn't always mean things were peaceful. In the wilderness when things were really quiet that was a good sign that a predator was nearby. This wasn't the wild, but given what lurked in this city it might as well be. Loki gave a soft, frustrated sigh. Now he was just being paranoid. With all the crap he had been going through since he came to this city the boy was more high strung than he used to be, and now it was starting to effect him.
The little feline tried to think things over reasonably for a moment. Paranoid or not even he had to admit he was taking more of a risk than he needed to. He should head back out into the main streets just to be on the safe side. Loki quickly turned to make his way over to the nearest exit when he heard something. Loki stopped for a moment to figure out what was going on around him. That sound had not been an ordinary sound, it sounded like the shriek of a dying animal, possibly a dog, or something similar to it. When the heavy scent of blood reached the male's nose he knew that something bad happened. “Fuck...” his intuition was right this time around. Once again Loki had stumbled onto trouble, and it was close by too. What was he going to do about it? Loki looked around him first to try and figure out where the danger was. He knew that he was close by whatever attacked that dog but the smell of blood was so thick it was hard to pin point where it was coming from. If he didn't know where the attacker was it would be harder for him to give it the slip or hide in time.
So far Loki didn't see anything, whatever was out here with him wasn't within sight yet but it was only a matter of time before it did. He had no choice, he had to get out of here. So Loki chose to go ahead to his original destination. It was risky but it was the fastest way out of the alley and onto the streets where he would be safer. The boy moved forward, carefully pulling one of his throwing knives from his person and concealed it in his pocket. If he was unlucky enough to walk into this attacker while he made his exit he was at least going to be prepared for it. The throwing knife would give him an edge, and he had a switchblade hidden away in his other pocket for extra insurance. He was ready to fight if things came to that.
And boy would it come to that. It didn't take long for the shifter to catch sight of this dangerous creature he was worried about. It seemed that the direction he was heading was exactly where the attack had took place. The boy's eyes grew wide for a moment before immediately turning to glare into the large scaly beast's beady blood red eyes. “You.” the feline hissed at Guillotine. “Figures that it would be your ugly mug that I run into tonight. Let me guess, you are out for a hunt again? Or are you just stalking me?” Loki knew how this was going to turn out. It wasn't the wisest thing to poke at the hellhound but the way he saw it he was already screwed, so why not?Gil was a powerful opponent, and just like last time Loki didn't have back up. At least he had some training but he wasn't foolish enough to think that his progress was enough to make him a real threat to Gil. “I appreciate the love and all but I gotta tell you I am just not interested.”

| A low dark chuckle crept from Guillotine when his company came into full view. All signs of his previous remorse for his kill seemed to have disappeared when the feline arrived. A new stimuli was introduced to his mind. Guillotine’s instincts were slowly seeping into his head now that he didn’t have any medication in his system to stop it. A rugged grin had stretched his maw. The beast’s pointed ears were pricked forward. They twitched ever so slightly to the sound of footfalls. Blood red eyes soon lay on their next target, Loki. Gil wasn’t too terribly surprised to see the young shifter out and about. He had a bad habit of running into the hound at the worst of times. How unfortunate for the poor feline. This meeting felt oddly familiar. Was it deja vu? Loki had once again crept up on Gil while he was taking a kill. The poor feline had very bad timing.
Painting the large beast looked down at the corpse. The hound had called him for a good time. Gil answered, but ended up taking the pathetic female's life instead of creating life with her. He then glanced back up at Loki. Behind those beady blood red eyes lay darks thoughts. The way Gil looked at company he appeared to be subtlety saying you're next. By that time the little shifter began to talk. His words caused the large beast to release a loud laugh. Did Loki really think he had the upper hand here? The feline was confident. Gil would have to give him that. Still, something didn’t seem right. Licking some of the dried blood from his lips the large hellhound moved a bit closer to Loki. Without his medication aiding him the male was being a bit too bold. There must have been a reason why Loki was being as brave as he was. The thought of Azazel staking out in the shadows didn’t come across the foolish hound’s mind. Danger or not, after getting the taste of blood on his tongue the beast wished to play.
“If I didn’t know any better I’d say you were the one stalking me.” The hellhound's blood red eyes look down at the corpse below him when Loki had asked if he was out for a hunt. Gil then looked up at Loki and blinked. “I wasn’t hunting exactly. I’m just here to clean up some trash.“He cooed kicking the female’s corpse away with his back leg. Her body sloshed around like a bloody rag doll until hitting the wall behind him with a loud splat. Gil paid no mind to the body now that there was a fresh one before him. “The bitch wanted some alone time with me and she got what was coming to her.” Licking his maw with satisfaction the hound then said in a teasing tone, "Did you want some alone time with me too, little boy?"
Guillotine cocked his large scaly head to the side when Loki stated that he wasn’t interested. “Not interested in my love? That is different...” He cooed slowly making his way over to the feline’s side. He kept a safe distance from his new chew toy. The hound's nose flared open taking in Loki's delicious smell. He wasn't quite sure why, but Loki had a scent that was akin to cat nip for dogs. Maybe it was the fact that he was a feline that brought this kind of reaction out of Guillotine? Whatever it was it caused the hound's eyes to close for a moment as he took in all in.
Luckily for Loki today Guillotine just wanted to play. He wasn't here to eat for once. This didn’t mean Loki would leave the alley without a few scars. “Relax, I’ve already had my pound of flesh. I’m done killing for today.” He cooed his demonic voice smooth as silk. Sure he was done killing but he wasn’t finished playing with Loki quite yet. Instead of outright attacking Loki Gil decided to pick at the shifter’s head first. He knew this game all too well. Guillotine wouldn’t be the first one to initiate a fight this time. However he still couldn’t help but to be his usual self. Giving Loki a minute to take it all in the beast then snorted. “You look like you are in the mood to play.” He replied teasing Loki with a demonic chuckle. The beast’s tail whipper around behind him in anticipation of what was to come. Would Loki fight him again or perhaps the feline would be willing to work something out?

Loki really did have terrible luck. The little shifter had always been prong to getting into trouble. It was like he was a magnet for bad luck. No matter where he went or what he did it always found its way to him, and in different forms too. Lately it seemed that trouble's favorite form was Guillotine. Out of all the threats Loki had faced in his life Guillotine was one of the worse. He had never faced a foe stronger than the hellhound. Gil was a powerhouse, he was big and strong in both his forms. Gil could easily overpower him and he knew it. Even now that Loki was training to get stronger Gil could still overpower him if he could get his grubby paws on him. This was bad. Loki was starting to regret ever stepping foot outside the apartment today. If only he had listened to his intuition earlier maybe none of this would be happening. No, who was he kidding? Even if he stayed home today Gil would somehow find his way to the boy's door. Fate brought them together, and so long as they both lived things like this were bound to happen.
The moment that the two ran into each other no one said a word. Gil's eyes locked onto his as a wicked grin crossed his maw. Gil didn't seem to share the same distaste for this unplanned meet up as the boy did. The hound was a little too damn pleased to see the shifter here. Just like in the past Guillotine was being cocky. What the hellhound saw here was not an enemy standing before him but something to play with. The hellhound's thoughts weren't completely thanks to overconfidence. Even Loki had to admit that Gil was the stronger out of the two but things were different now. Their last real fight should have been a reminder to the damn hound that Loki wasn't completely hopeless. The bastard had failed the first time to kill Loki. Before Azazel showed up the little shifter was able to keep the hellhound at bay, and that was before he even knew how to fight. Tonight would be different than the last one. Loki was a little less helpless now and better armed than he was before. If Gil attacked him again he was going to be in a world of hurt no matter how this fight ended.
The boy was the first to break the silence between them, his words made the hellhound laugh. That was too bad he had hoped that he would get the hellhound a little ticked off instead. Like the cocky bastard that he was Gil was quick to throw Loki's remark right back at him. Guillotine's comeback didn't phase the shifter though. He merely smiled back in response. “You wish.” the shifter remarked, “I have better things to do with my time than chase after your tail Gilly.” The shifter was being unusually bold with Guillotine despite their current circumstance. Loki was no fool, he didn't have nearly enough confidence in his current abilities to entertain the idea of matching up with the hellhound. But he wasn't going to show fear this time around. Fear merely fed into Gil's ego and made him more bold. A bold hellhound was a dangerous one. If he wanted to beat the hound at all then he would have to do so by playing along with this verbal game. At least this one was something he could do.
Loki watched as the hellhound kicked the carcass of his latest kill out of the way. A strange sense of deja vu hit the boy as he eyed the corpse. This was just like their last dangerous encounter. Back then he had bumped into Gil as he was brutalizing a raccoon. Now here he was again, bumping into the damn demonic mutt with another kill. He had no idea what Gil got his jaws into this time around. The corpse just like last time was too badly damaged to make out properly, but judging by what he could see, and what he heard earlier it had to be some kind of canine. Just looking at the bloody thing unsettled the boy a bit, enough so that when Gil moved towards him he took a step back. Still the boy kept his brave facade up. He wasn't willing to give the hellhound the satisfaction of getting under his skin. The boy continued to make 'small talk' with the bigger male. Like before Gil kept his cool, teasing the boy right back at every turn.
“Cleaning up trash huh? I am surprised that you haven't taken yourself out yet then.” the shifter replied back just as coolly. He even chuckled at Gil's explanation on what had happened with his last prey. “That's a shame. Here I thought you would at least do a little more than just sick your fangs into a female. But I guess I was wrong. The only thing your pea brain can think of is violence isn't it?” the boy shook his head when Guillotine asked him if he wanted to meet the same fate as the female canine. “No thanks pal. As tempting as your offer is I am not suicidal enough to spend some quality time with you. Go find yourself a real bitch to play with and leave me alone.” Oh if only the damn mutt would take his advice seriously. With the way things were going Gil was not likely to leave Loki alone any time soon. As always Loki had piqued the hellhound's dangerous interest. The way Gil looked at him told him as much.
Loki could only watch as the hellhound moved towards him again. The boy forced himself to stay still this time around as the hellhound started taking in his scent. God how he hated when Gil started sniffing him. The way that the hound did it never failed to send a chill down the feline's spine. But Loki didn't show it. He needed to stay cool this time. Show no fear and maybe he could get out of this with all his body parts still attached. Gil hadn't attacked him yet, and didn't seem like he was willing to make the first strike so Loki wouldn't fight. It would be nice to avoid fighting if possible. The chances weren't too high that he could but he had to try. The boy rolled his eyes when the hellhound told him that he was done killing for the night. “Why don't I believe you?” the shifter asked. “You and I both know that you want nothing more than to sink your fangs into me. Somehow I doubt that you aren't tempted to do that right now. If you really want someone to play with then look elsewhere. I am not some bitch for you to fool around with Gil, and I am really not in the mood to play games with you.”

Loki was possibly the most interesting supernatural Gil had ever met. The smaller male was able to keep his composure around Guillotine despite knowing full and well what he was capable of. While most would have run away Loki stayed. He stood in the face of danger like a soldier on the battlefield. It quickly became clear that he wasn’t about to back down from Gil. Would the feline still be confident if he didn’t have Azazel as a friend? This question began to linger in the hellhound’s mind. He was unsure if Loki was just brave or a total fool. Seeing Loki on this fine evening was a lovely surprise for the hellhound. With the taste of blood still on his tongue it would drive him to do naughty things. The PIDA forbid Gil from killing humans. He would be put down if he was ever caught doing such a thing. However, Loki wasn’t human. It was Gil’s job to rid the streets of unlawful supernaturals. In his eyes Loki was just that and deserved punishment. Especially after knowing what he had done to Blake during their last meeting.
Dark thoughts swirled within Guillotine's skull. There was so much he could do to Loki without actually killing him. The thought of beating the little cat within an inch of his life did sound quite enjoyable. The large beast’s beady blood red eyes observed Loki’s smaller frame. After a while he had begun to wonder if the feline could survive being disemboweled. This was unlikely. With a small body like his he was certain to bleed out fairly quickly. Hell, Gil hadn't lasted very long at all on the day that Azazel stabbed him. There was no way Loki would survive such treatment. Gil grumbled to himself. Oh well, he’d just have to stick to breaking a few bones if he wanted to get any fun out of this at all. Regardless of the outcome Gil was f*cked either way. Unless he turned around and walked away things were bound to end badly for both him and Loki. If he killed or even wounded Loki tonight Azazel would come after him for sure. The angel would have his head on a stake. Even after their last battle the idiotic hound was still willing to go after Loki. He saw the little shifter as a weak link that needed to be snuffed out. Would Guillotine ever learn?
The hound thought he had picked up on something interesting coming from the smaller male. Was Loki was trying to hide his emotions from the hound? The shifter was putting on a mighty poker face after all. Guillotine had laughed at Loki’s previous insult. It didn’t phase him. What the little feline said next had warranted yet another chuckle from the large beast. The little shifter would have to do better if he wanted to get under the hound’s thick skin. The beast was being fairly overconfident tonight. His over inflated ego would surely be his downfall yet again. Too bad Gil was far too blind to see it at the time. Instead of counting his blessings and moving on he would continue to insult the smaller male. Loki didn't want to chase his tail? What a shame. “Pity, I always thought you had a thing for me, Loki.” The beast replied his smile had stretched his maw. Those razor sharp fangs of his seemed to glow in the moonlight, giving his large form a menacing looking grin. “You are always there every time I turn around. It’s quite interesting, really.” Ah yes, Guillotine could smell the shifter’s uncertainty. After kicking his kill against the wall the feline’s demeanor had shifted slightly. When Gil moved towards Loki the boy had taken a step back. That was what Gil was looking for, a sign of weakness. This only fed into Gil’s already over inflated ego but only for a very short amount of time. Despite stepping back the little shifter still held his head high. Oh, he was going to be a tough nut to crack.
Loki must have had a thing for women. He said to Gil that he thought the hound would do a little more than just kill the hound outright. Guillotine cocked his head curiously to the side. The hound’s ears remained forward and alert as his thoughts immediately went south. “Would you have stayed around to watch me f*ck that bitch if I hadn’t killed her?” The hound queered, letting out a terrifying cackle. Deep down knew he wouldn’t have done such a thing because of the thoughts he had for his ex-mate. Even without his medication he managed to do that much. Perhaps there was hope for him? Guillotine allowed his cocky attitude to flourish. He figured he didn’t need his hellhound form to be intimidating anymore. Taking a step back the large beast began to smolder. He didn't want to burn Loki, not before he had some fun with him first. Soon the hound was engulfed in flames. When these flames disbursed a human stood in the large beast’s place. The tall man was wearing nothing more than a white tank top and some black shorts. It was fairly warm out so he didn’t need to bundle up tonight. Closing his eyes Guillotine rolled his shoulders back until they popped. “Oh, It would have been quite the show...” The large male cooed opening his emerald eyes and looked down at Loki. He was trying to get under the shifter’s skin.
Loki was quick to turn Gil’s own insults against him. Guillotine was soon being compared to the trash that he was supposedly taking out. Gil's brow crease with annoyance. Loki was getting somewhere with this insult at least. The hound didn’t look too terribly happy to hear this. “Tough words for such a little man.” The beast growled a reply.
Soon Loki began to insult Gil yet again telling the man he had a pea brain that thought about nothing but violence. This appeared to strike a nerve with the hellhound. Finally Loki was starting to get to the beast. “Pea brain? Suppose yours any better? You must have a small brain for such a fragile little body.” Gil was beginning to lose his temper. He folded his arms in front of him and glared at the smaller male. His forest green eyes shifted to a deadly crimson color. “Violence is in my nature and I do as I please.” The beast then looked over his shoulder at the corpse that sat mangled against the brick wall behind him. Looking from his prized work he turned back to Loki. A sickening grin had taken over his features yet again. “If you are so worried about the female not getting the attention she deserves you can still have a go at her if you like. Her body is still warm.”
Loki began to speak again. Telling the hound that he wasn’t suicidal enough to play his games. He even told Gil to go find himself a real bitch to play with. Too bad the only bitch around was dead. The hellhound remained unusually quiet after this. Guillotine looked the feline up and down. There was a hint of lust in those blood red eyes of his. It looked almost as if Gil were checking him out. Though, Gil was doing quite the opposite. He wasn’t checking Loki out, he was sizing him up. After a minute or so he looked Loki in the eye. “You look like a real bitch to me.” The beast said, mocking the smaller male with a smirk.
Drawing ever so closer to the cat Gil began to chuckle. “ You know there is something about your scent, little cat.” Now Guillotine was starting to be a bit honest. There really was something about Loki’s smell that he liked. God, he just wanted to dig into his body right then and there. The hound could recall how the feline acted the last time he smelled him. He just loved seeing Loki shutter. Standing beside the shifter now he leaned over for a quick wiff. Gil’s nose noticeable flared open. Taking in Loki’s signature smell. The hound’s eyes rolled back into his skull with pleasure. A pleased sigh crept from his lips. This was a scent he could never forget. It was the pleasant aroma of his prey. Soon Guillotine began to whisper into Loki’s ear. “It makes me t-tingle all over... ” The tall man then shook with excitement. Though Gil really enjoyed f*cking with the feline’s head he was actually getting a weird sensation by smelling him. Gil wouldn’t pry too much into this.
Looking back down at Loki he would say, “I think that is the only reason why I am keeping you alive at all tonight. Well, that and of course I wouldn’t want to anger Mr. Bird.” Gil rolled his eyes. Azazel always had to ruin his fun. First with Aviela and now with Loki. God, he hated that angel with a passion. Azazel had bested him during their last fight. The beast had taken steps to insure that wouldn’t happen again. Since that day the hound had grown a bit confident of his abilities. Which is possibly the reason why he was so prideful right now. Gil had been doing a bit of his own personal training as of late. He had begun to frequent the PIDA gym. The male didn’t lift weights or even run on a treadmill. Rather he had found a new love that came in the form of a punching bag. The beast could stay for hours punching the damn thing. During one of his sessions he ended up transforming and tearing into it. He had ripped it from it’s chain and torn it to bits. Poor Jesse had to pay for the damages. Needless to say, Guillotine hadn’t been allowed back at the PIDA gym since that day. Still, Guillotine was pretty damn confident those few weeks at the gym had paid off. Little did he know he would need a lot more training than that if he ever wanted to beat Azazel.
“Are you callin’ me a liar, Boy?” The hound replied, his body grew tense. He wasn’t so sure if he could keep his promise about not killing the shifter. Gil wasn’t above breaking a few bones while playing with him though. As long as the package wasn’t totally unrecognizable Azazel should be thankful, right? During their last battle both Azazel and Loki teamed up against Gil. The hound wanted to return the favor and give Loki something to cry about. He wished to see fear in the male’s eyes like he had that fateful day in the alley. Oh yes, Gil could recall just feeling the fear radiate from him, It was delicious. When Loki explained what Gil really wanted the hound laughed. Loki had hit the nail right on the head. [fontcolor="ff0000"]“I guess you know me a little too well.” [/font]The male then told him to go look somewhere else for a plaything. Gil shook his head. This was going to be one hell of a night for the both of them. “Why should I when there is a perfectly good toy right here in front of me, hmm? ”

Loki was flirting with danger tonight and he knew it. There was no helping it though, if this had been anyone else the boy would have at least entertained the idea of running or at least talking his way out of this mess. But he wasn't dealing with just anyone here, he was dealing with Guillotine. Gil was the worse of the worse from Loki's personal experience. He was nothing more than a violent brute that would stop at nothing till he could get the shifter in his greedy jaws. There were few places that Loki to run to get away from him. The hellhound was blocking the closest exit out of the alley. He could try to run back the way he came but he knew Gil was fast enough to catch him at such a distance. Running now would be difficult. He couldn't escape, nor could he talk himself out of this. Gil was a blockhead. The damn mutt wouldn't be swayed by reason to leave him be for the night.
That left only one option left. He needed to stand his ground and fight. Though Loki knew that was his best course of action he didn't act on it. Oh how he longed to to put a blade or two into that thick scaly hide of Gil's but he couldn't bring himself to do it. Not out of fear, or pity, but because of Blake. Loki's thoughts trailed back to the young witch the moment he started thinking about his first plan of attack. Guillotine was her friend, and losing him would be another tragedy for her. Now that he knew the relationship between Gil and Blake he did have a harder time bringing himself to think of killing the male. Despite forcefully ending his friendship with the woman to make this feud between him and Gil less painful to her that didn't make things any easier for him. All he did was ensure if he died by Gil's hands she wouldn't be so upset by the loss. But that did nothing for her if she lost Gil. Could he really do this? Could he really fight Gil and kill him knowing that?
He might not have much of a choice in the matter. While Loki was having a bit of a moral dilemma on his own desires to kill the hellhound, Guillotine didn't have the same problem. By the way Gil was looking at him the boy could tell exactly what kind of dark sickening thoughts were going through his head. Loki would be a dead man if he didn't try to defend himself. But he couldn't be the one to land the first hit. In the end Loki could only play along with this little mind game. If there was one thing that Loki was good at it was this. Loki had always been good at playing whatever role he had to when the situation called for it. Right now with Gil he needed to be brave and defiant. So that was what he did. While Gil taunted him Loki stood his ground, he kept his head high and a mischievous smile on his face as he spoke to the hellhound. Gil in turn did the same thing. The boy let out a little snort when Gil claimed that he might have an interest in the hound. “You wish.” the boy replied. “Sorry to break it to you Gilly but I have too high of a standard to even think about you. I wouldn't be interested in you even if you were a decent looking woman.”
When Loki brought up the female that Guillotine had killed the hellhound said something rather sickening before breaking out in laughter. The boy kept his disgust to himself and rolled his eyes at the beast instead. “If I want to see someone screwing around I would be watching hentai. Not you.” So far Loki didn't seem to be getting under the hellhound's skin, but he was at least lowering the male's guard. When Guillotine took a step back to transform Loki knew that the hound was not taking him seriously. That was a big mistake. Gil was pretty strong but he was more vulnerable in his human form. It would be a lot easier to plunge a knife through him like this if things came to that. Right now Loki was still safe, instead of attacking Gil chose to continue this verbal match between them, but Gil was starting to lose this one. It didn't take long for Loki to start getting under the other male's skin. The boy smiled as a flash of anger came across Gil's blood red eyes. His attempt to put him back down only made him laugh.
“I am a lot smarter than you think I am Gilly.” The boy smiled up at the hound. “We all have our little flaws. What I lack in size I make up in wit and grace. Perhaps that is the reason you are so big and brutish. You don't have the brains to compete with someone like me on a mental level so you have to resort to punching and biting to compensate.” Loki shook his head. “Its a shame really. If you had more brains you might have more fun in life. Or at least not get in situations that guarantee getting your ass kicked for it.” It was a bad idea to continue to mess with the hound like this but Loki wouldn't stop. His fate was already decided, even if he wasn't the one who would strike first the other party was bound to attack him anyway. Gil didn't need any excuses to attack Loki. One way or another the boy was already standing at death's door. At least he could win at this little game before Gil came at him. It was pretty amazing that Gil didn't attack him after that. Loki had to hand it to him, Gil was pretty determined to win this verbal game. Despite the beast's growing anger he still tried to take cheap shots at Loki. Once again the hellhound's gaze fell on the dead female before making another sick suggestion to the boy. Just like last time the boy just shook his head. “No thanks, I am a lover not a pervert.” came his response.
So Gil was capable of thoughts outside of violence it seemed. The male's sick suggestions were enough to make Loki realize that Gil wasn't just a violent brute, but a pervert as well. That realization came at a strange time. Loki was surprised that Gil didn't say a word at first when the boy told him to go out and find some other female dog to entertain him tonight instead of troubling him. Guillotine just gazed at him for a moment, those dangerous red eyes slowly raking over the boy's small form. The look in Gil's eyes made his skin crawl. The way Guillotine was eying him looked like he was doing a lot more than just sizing him up. But Loki didn't think much of it. There was no way in hell the damn demon mutt was looking at him sexually. He knew Gil too well to see it as anything other than a threat. Loki sent a challenging look of his own right back at the hellhound. He was letting the damn beast know that he wasn't going to let this bastard get under his skin with cheap tricks. He would have to do a lot better than that to make Loki slip up.
Or would he? Loki didn't have a lot of weaknesses when it came to personal things. The little feline could keep himself calm under most circumstances but he did have a few things that could break his facade easily. Weylyn had discovered one of them, and now Gil found another. Guillotine had always been a bit creepy to the shifter, but out of all the creepy behavior Gil exhibited it was the sniffing thing that got to him. It wasn't the act itself but the way that Gil did it that made him extremely uncomfortable every time he did it. It was just this perfect mix of crazed drug addict and creepy pervert that just set Loki off. He couldn't help but shudder when Gil drew closer to take in his scent. Just seeing the damn male take so much pleasure from his scent was enough to shatter his composure for a moment. What was this hellhound's obession with the way Loki smelled? Was it something about the boy himself that made his scent so appealing to others, or his genes? Loki didn't know what it was but he didn't like it. The boy jumped back the moment Guillotine whispered in his ear.
“That better be all it does for you.” the boy hissed as he glared back at the male. The boy's braze facade had shattered for a moment but it came back in full force now. Loki was determined to not let Guillotine win this one. So long as Gil stayed back and kept his hands to himself the boy wouldn't slip up again. “Forgive me for not jumping up and down for joy. I'd rather you bite me than stick your nose anywhere around me.” Loki might end up regretting those words later on but the boy wasn't thinking all that straight right now. Even in this moment of peace he still felt a little paranoid that Gil would come after him like that again. He couldn't help but voice his opinion on the matter there. At least the mention of Azazel brought a smile back on the boy's handsome face. “Worried about Azazel I see.” the boy purred. “If you really are worried about angering Azazel then you should think carefully about what you are going to do next. If you do manage to kill me tonight we both know just how pissed off he'd be, and how fast he will track you down to exact vengence. If you can use your tiny brain for just a moment you will see just how much of a bad idea it is to fuck with me.” Azazel wasn't hear tonight, and as far as Loki knew would not be hear to help save him like last time. Still if there was one thing that Loki did know it was that so long as Gil so much as laid a single hair on his head the angel will go after Guillotine's blood. He could only hope that Gil's blood would be the only thing that he'd go for.
Loki's thoughts returned to Blake once more. Could he really trust Azazel not to go after her? As kind and caring as the angel could be Loki knew how dangerous Azazel could be when he was mad. Guillotine pushed the man to become a very dangerous individual. While the angel might not be capable of hurting anyone he didn't have the same faith in the monster the angel became when he got angry. If Gil killed Loki now was there anything left to stop him from going after Blake? He couldn't let that happen. The more he thought about it the more he wanted to end this. Loki tried to tell Gil off, to warn him not to push things that far but of course Gil wouldn't listen. The boy sighed as the hellhound pressed forward. This would not end well, but he still had to try. Loki looked up into the hellhound's eyes again, his golden gaze for once looked serious. He was done playing around.
'Why? Because this little toy won't play nicely. If you bite me I will fight back. If you so much as touch me I will fight back. I doubt you will have a lot of fun with me when I plunge my blade deep in your gut. If that isn't enough to make you think twice then remember this. No matter what happens to me, whether you kill me or leave me here to bleed to death Azazel will come to take vengence. You aren't invincible Gil. You have weaknesses, and I am not just talking about you. I am talking about those you are close to. Why do you think I backed off with Blake? I did it because of this. This fight won't just effect us, it will effect her too. The most I could do was make sure that she wouldn't get hurt if I died by your hands, or give her more of a reason to try and get between us. But that won't stop her from suffering if you die. God forbid Azazel doesn't get so mad that he finds out about her and decides to take his anger out on her in your place. At least I am here now to prevent that from happening. None of this has to happen Gil. If you turn back now you won't even need to worry about it. You can go on your merry little way, and I can go on mine, pretend I never saw you, and we can both act like nothing even happened.”

Tonight was going to be a fairly interesting night. Guillotine wondered what Loki would do now that he had the little shifter right where he wanted him. It was only a matter of time before things truly turned bad for Loki. Guillotine didn’t exactly have the purest of intentions and Loki didn’t appear to be backing down anytime soon. Loki was full of surprises on this fine night. It didn't matter how many insults Gil threw at him the shifter was still standing there with his head held high. A twinge of annoyance crossed Guillotine’s pale face. He was quickly growing irritated with the current situation. The hound was no longer top dog in this argument, in his head this was quite a concern. It would take a whole lot more to get under the shifter’s skin it seemed. No matter, Gil wasn’t through with the boy just yet.
Loki made an attempt to insult Guillotine yet again. He went on to say that he had high standards when it came to crushes. He even told the tall man that he wouldn't be attracted to him even if he was decent looking woman. This remark actually made the hound laugh. Insult aside it was a clever blow. Just thinking about being the opposite gender was quite amusing to the hellhound. Gil rolled his eyes. “Oh Loki, you wound me…” Would there ever be an end to this verbal pissing contest? There didn’t seem to be an end in sight. When Guillotine brought up the dead hound Loki replied with something rather interesting. He said something about hentai. What was a hentai? Gil had stopped laughing by this point and cocked his head to the side. He appeared confused by this strange terminology. “H-Henati, what?” Whatever it was did it have something to do with sex? Gil tried to shake the thought out of his head. Now wasn’t the time to be debating such things. Not when he had a shifter that needed to be put in his place.
What Loki said next did prompt Gil to give him a scowl. Guillotine would never admit that he wasn’t the smartest hound around. Hell, he turned a blind eye to it. Loki would call the hound out on his shit and do it in a calm manner. The hellhound didn’t seem to terribly happy about being called stupid. His muscles became tense and he gritted his teeth. Loki was really starting to push his buttons. “Without brute force I wouldn’t be where I am today, Loki.” The hound growled. He was getting really tired of this shifter’s shit. “It is the only thing that has kept me alive over the years.” When Loki mentioned how Gil always got his ass kicked the beast nearly lost his shit. “SHUT UP!” HE barked, his blood red eyes filled with anger. Thank god the topic moved on. Gil was just about to ring Loki’s neck.
The hellhound scoffed when Loki mentioned that he was a lover not a pervert. “Yeah, right. “ He grumbled under his breath. He was still pissed from what Loki had said earlier. Forgetting about his sick suggestion Gil moved on. For a brief moment Guillotine had thought he finally backed the male into a corner when he went to take in Loki’s delicious scent. The male recoiled back again. Thought, this drop in confidence didn’t last long. To Gil’s dismay the shifter’s bravery quickly returned, in full force. Loki soon hissed at the hound. Telling him that he better not be getting something out of this. “I donno,’ Kid. I think I might have just felt a little something in my pants just now.” the beast lied through his teeth. He wasn’t getting anything out of this in that sort of light. However, he did quite enjoy Loki’s signature smell. It may have made him happy but it didn’t turn him on. The hound grinned when Loki mentioned that he would rather have Gil bite him than smell him like that ever again. The beast took a step back and looked Loki in the eye. “That can be arranged, you know.” He cooed, a light chuckle soon followed. Guillotine’s confidence took a nose dive when Loki brought up Azazel. The beast looked down at his company, giving him yet another scowl. “Azazel is on my mind, yes.” The hellhound remained quite as Loki spoke. His words held quite a bit of truth to them. Gil was about to fuck up if he did mess with Loki tonight. Was he willing to take that chance? The beast didn’t reply. Instead he looked away for a moment. The gears were turning in his head. it was a wonder smoke wasn’t pouring out of his ears. He was actually thinking this over.
The hound then remained quiet when Loki mentioned Blake. Gil looked the smaller feline in this eyes this time. The little man was being completely serious. Almost as if what he was saying was going to happen if something didn’t give here. For a moment Gil appeared to have lost his dramatic touch. The hellhound’s face grew paler than usual. Loki was right. What if Azazel did come for Blake in his place. He wouldn’t put it past the angel to do something like that. The hellhound let out a frustrated groan. His mind was screaming for him to end the little shifter, but his body just wouldn’t move towards the cat. The hound growled as he slowly forced himself to turn away from the smaller male. Just when he had Loki in his clutches the male had to go and say something like that. Despite his vendetta Gil wasn’t about to risk Blake’s life over it.The poor woman had already been through so much. She didn’t deserve to suffer any more, especially by his hand. There did appear to be one thing on his Gil’s mind aside from Blake. Gil wasn’t going to attack Loki now, but he did want him for another purpose. He wasn’t quite finished with the cat just yet. He looked over his shoulder, his blood red eyes peered at Loki. Then with a snort he said, “Y-You still owe me a steak…”

Tonight was going to be a rather eventful night one way or another. Loki knew that things were not likely to end well for one of them tonight, perhaps both if history taught him anything. The shifter had no delusions on who was going to get the short end of the stick here. Though Loki had been going through training to toughen him up and sharpen his knife wielding skills, he was still rather green. He had a lot to learn and not enough time to do so. As he stood now he was still a weak little kitten compared to Guillotine. At least he was a weak little kitten with a few tricks up his sleeves. Gil may be stronger but he wasn't smarter than Loki, it was obvious that the hellhound still thought very little of Loki's skills. Having his opponents underestimate him always worked out in Loki's favor. It gave him the chance to surprise them, and in turn survive. Gil would be in for quite a surprise if he tried to put his hands on this feline. He'd find a lot more than a tiny shiv slicing through his flesh tonight.
For now Guillotine was lucky not having to deal with the shifter's knife arsenal tonight. Since Gil came into his sights Loki had hesitated to strike. It wasn't in Loki's best interest to be the first one to attack, he didn't want to give his secrets away, and if anything he wanted to avoid fighting if possible. Blake kept springing to mind every time he contemplated ending this stupid little farce. In the end he couldn't bring himself to do it. But eventually he would have to. It was only a matter of time until Guillotine struck, and once he did Loki would have to fight to protect himself. He couldn't let himself die to this monster just for the sake of a girl he couldn't associate with anymore. It was only a matter of time until he would have to fight. For now he would stick to this verbal battle. This insult exchange at least was working out in his favor.
Loki was very good at finding and singling out a person's weak points, and with Guillotine it was easier than most to find his flaws. From what Loki observed Gil was a dimwitted brute that liked terrorizing the weak, but couldn't deal with it when the tables were turned on him. To make matters even better he was easily swayed by emotions. If one could find his weak spots it was very easy to get under his skin. Sadly for Gil this little feline was not the same. Loki's normally calm and easy going nature made it hard for him to take insults about himself too seriously. Loki had no illusions about himself. He knew what he was, he knew his strengths, and he knew his weaknesses. Simple insults would not work on him. The only things that would were not something that Guillotine would be able to find out easily, not without Loki telling him himself. Even if he did know his past he couldn't really hurt the boy with it. What could Gil possibly say that Loki hadn't already thought of himself? Gil was going to lose this verbal match.
He had to admit, Gil was able to keep his cool at first. For each taunt Loki gave Guillotine returned it. Gil even looked amused at Loki's remarks about his personal standards when it came to females. He did look a little confused about his hentai remarks. Loki couldn't help but crack a smile at that. “Look it up on the internet. I am sure you will like that kind of thing much more than me.” he answered back. This funny moment quickly came to an end when Loki started making jabs at the hellhound's intelligence. Ah, there it was. Gil was starting to slip. Gil didn't seem to like being called stupid, knowing that only made Loki want to egg him on more. The shifter rolled his eyes at the other male, resisting the urge to smile at the hound's slip up. “You wouldn't be here today doing what? Picking on poor defenseless kitty cats in back alleyways? That must be a really impressive feat for you. I am sure you are the envy of all your fellow brethren to be able to accomplish such a difficult task. Bravo.” Gil was making this too easy for the boy to pick on him. His next comment was just as easy to tear into as the last. “And its the only thing that has been putting your life at risk too. You do realize that right? Or did you get hit in the head too many times to consider that?” Loki finally did give the male a wicked grin when he shouted at him to shut up. Poor big ol' Gilly. He couldn't take much more of this. Perhaps it was a good thing that the conversation changed. As fun as this was the winner of this match was bound to get a beat down. As cocky as Loki was he wasn't so confident that he could ignore this fact. So he let this part slide in favor of another topic.
Loki soon regretted the change of topic. Now it was Gil's turn to get under Loki's skin. God if there was one thing that Loki hated about Gil it was the way how the hellhound smelled him. There really must be something about the boy's scent that cause the hellhound to act so weird when it came to sniffing him. At first he thought it was something with Guillotine himself, but that was until he met Weylyn. Gil wasn't the only guy that took interest in Loki's scent. He also was not the only one to send the boy strange signals. Unlike Wey whom Loki had a hard time trying to dismiss the shadow cat's sexual advances as something else, it was far easier to tell what Gil was doing though. Gil was messing with him and he knew it. There was no way that Guillotine was seriously attracted to him. Gil hated him too much for this to be anything more than a joke. If anything Guillotine saw Loki more as food, and no one would want to fuck what they considered dinner. All the same it still made the feline shudder and even bare his fangs back in response.
This side of Gil actually made him want the more violent side of the hellhound. Loki would sooner deal with the beast's fangs than let the male get off on his scent, or any other unwanted advances if Gil had been serious with his flirting. He was quick to let him know that too. Gil in turn was quick to make his own comeback. Guillotine had won this round, but in the end he didn't win the war. The moment that Azazel came up in the conversation things went back in Loki's favor. The moment that Loki saw Gil scowl at the mention of the angel's name he knew he had won. He didn't even need to exaggerate when he talked about his friend. He was telling the truth, if something happened to Loki tonight Azazel would come for Gil. Loki knew and so did Gil, it just took the boy to remind him of that to make the male hesitate. Could this be his chance? Seeing the male hesitate was enough to make Loki question his own actions here. So far Loki had been poking and prodding the hellhound because he was sure Gil was not going to let him go without a fight. His certainty of his own demise made him act a little reckless with the hellhound. But now there was an opportunity to avoid this fight altogether, and all he needed to do was to stop taunting the male and talk to him seriously.
It was worth a shot so he did it, and he did it using the one thing that he knew that would get through to Guillotine. Blake. Blake was the sole reason why Loki hadn't attacked Gil yet and the boy hoped it would be the one reason Gil would have to prevent him from doing the same. Would Azazel really hurt Blake though? Loki didn't know. Loki was never too certain about things like this, but he was a good judge of character. As Azazel was now the boy was sure his friend wouldn't lay a hand on Blake. Still as sure as he was Loki had never said a word about the woman to him. That was because of the other male's wrath. Azazel wouldn't attack Blake now even if he knew that Blake was a friend of Gil's, but that could change if something happened to him by Gil's hands. Azazel's anger made him dangerous creature, one that might just throw out all morals for the sake of getting even with his enemy. Gil was playing a very dangerous game by going after Loki. Every time he did he was silently saying that friends were fair game in their little competition.
Gil didn't seem to realize that until Loki mentioned it. He could see it in the way Gil mulled over what he was saying in silence. When Gil turned his back on the shifter Loki put his hands in his pockets. While the hellhound was thinking over his words, Loki was busy thinking about something too. Would his words really change the beast's mind? Or was he going to have to fight after all? He still had his switchblade along with one of his throwing knives still in his pocket. If Gil chose to attack now he at least would be ready for the first strike. Loki remained still when Guillotine turned to face him, silently preparing for the worse when Gil finally spoke. Surprise was etched on the boy's features at the hellhound's words. Did he just hear that right? Suddenly the shifter broke out in a smile and chuckled. “You still remember that huh?” he laughed. “If my memory is still correct that deal was only if you didn't kill me the next time we met. Which you did try to do just that in our encounter after our first meeting. Technically speaking you fucked yourself over there...but if you really mean not to kill me tonight I can bend the agreement slightly.” Maybe there was hope yet for the young male. This was an odd turn of events but he would take being forced to buy Gil a steak dinner than being the dinner. “I hope you know a butcher shop nearby that is still open at this hour because I don't. Lead the way, and if the place is still open and we make it there safely I might just throw in an extra steak.”

Gil had to give up this feud sooner or later. He’d lost the little verbal match to Loki, that was obvious. He’d have to admit that the little shifter was rather cunning, more so than himself. Loki knew what buttons to push with him. It would be almost scary if Gil realized this. Loki knew his weaknesses and didn’t hesitate to throw it in his face. If anything that was what saved the shifter tonight. Little did Gil know the shifter came prepared for a battle that never came. Loki had been honing his skills as a fighter. Oh, if only the hound knew what lay there in Loki’s pocket. Gil remained blissfully oblivious.
“Look it up? hmmmm...” The hound pondered this. This Hentai thing Loki had been talking about was rather interesting to say the least. He’d never heard of it, but yet the little runt was telling him to look it up. Was it something bad? Well, Loki did say that he would like. Gil shrugged, his curiosity would get the better of him eventually. Tonight he would look it up after parting ways with the shifter. Hopefully Jesse was asleep so the hound could use his computer. Little did he know the things he would soon see. “Sure, I’ll give it a try.”
Soon enough Loki began to tease the hellhound again. His words had gotten to the male. The hound growled at Loki’s comment. God, was he ever annoying. “You are pushing my buttons, Cat.” The beast replied with a low grumble of a growl. He knew he fucked up when it came to messing with Loki. Who knows what Azazel would do to him if he found out he was fucking around with the cat.
When Loki mentioned Blake things appeared to have taking a turn for the better. Both Loki and Gil had a common goal now. They wanted to keep Blake safe. It was strange how one human could change the lives of two supernaturals. Blake’s presence made it possible for Loki and Gil to stop and think about what they were doing. It was a feat few, if anyone, could achieve.
When Gil told Loki what he wanted the shifter actually smiled and even let out a chuckle. The hound gave Loki a nod when he had asked him if he still remembered about what he had said. “How could I forget?” The beast replied with a groan. “You owe me a dog treat too, but I can let that one slide.” Loki went on to say that he did agree to buy him food if he didn’t kill him. The shifter was willing to look past their previous scraps since he decided to not kill him tonight. Pleased, the hound turned around to face Loki. His pale face no longer held that same scowl as if had before. Instead he looked rather calm, happy even. He was finally going to get something that he wanted tonight. If he could't have Loki he would get a steak instead. It was a fair trade, right? His blood red eyes looked down at the shifter. He would agree with Loki on one thing. He doubted anything would be open. “hmmm, I don’t think anything is open at this hour.” The hound replied scratching his chin. He then trotted over to Loki’s side. ”Whos to say we can’t go in anyway? I mean, you claim to be intelligent. Are you smart enough to break in and get me a steak or two?” A mischievous grin had lit up Gil’s features. He had a plan, one that included him not getting his hands dirty. “You can do that without getting caught, right?”

It looked like Loki was winning this little match up. Try as he might Guillotine couldn't hope to match the kid in this verbal game. Gil was simply not as good at hiding his true nature or feelings as Loki could. Guillotine was a very simple creature, he wore his heart on his sleeves for the whole world to see and wasn't afraid to show his feelings. That was his problem. Being someone who was so easily swayed by the simplest of feelings and unable to mask them it was easy for someone like this little shifter to figure out his triggers. Loki wasn't without his flaws too of course, but Gil did have the time to figure out what those were when he was so busy trying to contain his rage, a feat that was not too easy for the likes of him. Just hearing the other male admit that he was getting under his skin made Loki smile. That is the point the boy thought. In hindsight pissing the easily provoked hellhound off was not the best of plans. Loki, despite his current actions was not suicidal...well...at least not enough to throw his life away to the likes of Gil. But it didn't hurt to get under the male's skin.
It was only a matter of time before this confrontation broke out into a fight anyway. The moment that the two had run into each other Loki already knew how this was going to end. There was going to be bloodshed, and one of them might not survive. With any luck Loki would be the one to walk out of this, but he knew better than to keep his hopes up. At least this time around he was prepared for it. He had been training for a day like this, he still had a long way to go before he could really see himself killing this hellhound by himself but he could at least do some damage on the bastard to make him regret it. Still that wasn't enough to satisfy him. If Loki was going to get his ass beat at the very least he wanted to come out on top of something. This talk was the one thing he could win, and win it he did. Still while Loki did accomplish that goal he didn't feel that great about it. Not out of any sympathy for Gil, but because of Blake. Blake was the whole reason he hesitated to attack Gil from the start. Every time he thought about making a move on Gil her face sprang to mind. These thoughts were very dangerous. If he was hesitating now could he really fight back when Gil did strike him?
Maybe that was why he brought her up to Gil in the first place. Loki knew that his hesitation could very well cost him his life. He also knew that even if he could kill Gil he would only regret it later. Loki could no longer be around Blake, he accepted that reality the moment he had broke it off with her, but all the same he had a hard time doing anything that would only hurt her more than he already had. This battle between them needed to end. If not completely at least for tonight they needed to make peace. Loki didn't expect this to happen tonight though. Gil was always so damn stubborn and single minded, once the dog got a thought in his head he held onto it. Since the shifter's demise was no doubt on his mind Loki doubted he could talk his way out of this. He wasn't able to persuade the damn hellhound before when he genuinely wanted peace between them so why would it work now?
Imagine the boy's surprise when Gil answered his call for peace with their old arrangement. Loki was down right surprised to hear what Guillotine said. Was this some kind of joke? A trick to lower his guard? Or was it genuine? He wouldn't put it past Guillotine to try and trick him like this. He had done so once before and that had nearly cost both of them their lives. But what reason did he have to lie now? Only a few seconds ago Gil wasn't even hiding his murderous intent, now here he was suggesting that Loki feed him instead. If this was some sort of trick it was a rather strange and not well thought out one. Loki couldn't help but laugh at this, trick or not he would roll with it and see where it took him. “I don't man, it looked like you forgot all about that the night you tried to kill me. Its kind of hard for me to buy you dinner when you were trying to make me into dinner.” the boy teased back. The shifter chuckled again when Gil mentioned the dog treat. “My my my how generous of you. I guess that is for the best too. I doubt the pet store is opened right now for me to buy you a new treat anyway.”
Speaking of stores being open right now, were there any butchershops opened at this time of night anyway? Now that was going to put a little dent in their plans. If there were no shops open there was no way for Loki to go and get Gil what he wanted, thus saving his own skin for the night. This innocent little situation could still end up turning deadly before Loki knew it. “I hope you know a butcher shop that might still be open right now or else I won't be able to get you anything right now. If you don't I could always give you the money to buy them on your own, since I doubt we will bump into each other any time soon.” Giving him the cash was a reasonable deal. Luckily for Gil, Loki had been paid for his services tonight. He had more than enough money to buy what Gil wanted and still have enough left back to take home with him. The offer was a simple one, but just as Loki made his suggestion Gil made one of his own. A break in huh? That was an...interesting proposal.
“Am I smart enough to break into a store? Yes. Can I do so without getting caught though is a different matter.” Loki replied. “You are talking to a former thief. Stealing is my specialty, and I have learned over the years how to pick a lock or two. But I mainly stuck to pickpocketing, and for good reason. Break ins are a tricky business. Any moderately wealthy houses have some for of security. I might be good with my hands but I am not so well versed in technology, I am not too sure on how to hack a security system. So I always stuck to hitting poor houses to avoid it. Stores pose the same problem as wealthy houses, they usually have some form of security. The decent ones have video surveillance for people like me. That will be a problem.” What Guillotine was suggesting was a really big stupid risk to take just for a few steaks. Loki never liked taking big risks for small things. If he did this and got caught in the act he would have to flee or risk going to jail. It was a really big risk to take when he had finally gotten himself off the streets and had people back at home waiting for him. But this was all to keep himself alive another day, could he really reject this? “If we are going to do this then we need to be very smart and very careful about how we do this. We can't go break into just any old butcher shop. The place we need to go to has to be at the very least low security. If there is a family run or small looking butcher shop in town that would be the best place to go. They at the very least won't have enough money to afford buying cameras to watch the shop. Do you know any place like that?”

A sudden cigarette craving struck Guillotine as he stood before Loki. He tried to fight it off, but eventually gave in. Guillotine reached into his pocket, and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. After pulling out a single one he stuck it in his mouth and lit it up. He took a long hard drag as Loki spoke. The hound released the toxic smoke into the air before giving the shifter a chuckle. The cat did have a point. It was kind of hard to get the hound his dinner when he was trying to eat Loki “I suppose you have a point there.” The hound replied as he slipped his pack of cigarettes and lighter back into his pocket. He took another drag of his cancer stick before cocking his head to the side. Loki was right, there weren’t any stores open at this time of night, but that wasn’t going to stop Gil from getting what he wanted.
When Loki mented that there had to be a butcher shop that was still open the hound hook his head. “No, I don’t think there is.” He said taking another drag of his cigarette and leaned against the cool brick wall. When Loki stated that he could give Gil money instead of following him on this wild goosechase the hound didn’t seem satisfied. He growled and shook his head again. “N-No way! I don’t want your money. I want YOU to get ME a steak.” Gil was possibly the only person in the world who would turn down money in place of gratification.
When Guillotine brought up breaking into the shop Loki’s eyes appeared to light up. It was almost humorous. Loki soon spoke, explained how he was a thief, and a craft one at that. He also mentioned that it would be best not to hit up stores that had security systems. The hound scratched the light stubble on his chin as he thought. “Well, there is one place nearby. Just around the corner is a butcher shop. They are a family owned store so I doubt they have any of that fancy camera stuff. But, they do have an alarm on their front door.” Gil wondered if Loki could somehow get passed that. “Would that be a challenge for you?”

Loki crinkled his nose as the scent of cigarette smoke hit his nostrils. God how he hated cigarettes. It was just one of the many things in human civilization that he despised. Even now despite living a few years in the human world he still couldn't get used to their scent. Loki didn't say a word about this to Guillotine though. The last thing he needed was to get on the hellhound's bad side again so he kept his mouth shut. That didn't stop him from teasing Gil around a little bit though. Yes, Loki still remembered the deal he had made with the hellhound awhile back during their first meeting. Before today he had no intentions of ever paying it back. In his eyes Gil had thrown that deal out the window when he attacked him. Now that Gil was mentioning that arrangement he was willing to put it back on the table. This deal of his could very well save his life tonight so Loki accepted it.
But there was a little bit of an issue with the pair's plan. That was the time. It was pretty late out now and that meant that most stores would be closed. That included most of the butchershops in town. If the shops were closed then Loki would have nothing to give the hellhound, they could end right back up where they started. That was something that Loki didn't want. There had to be something still opened so he asked Gil if there were any shops that he knew that still would be available. Much to his disappointment Guillotine said that there wasn't. Damn, what was he suppose to do now? Well, there was always the 'give him so cash and send him on his way option'. Gil would not leave him alone empty handed, and with no real idea of when or where they might ever meet to try this again at least this way Gil could get his steaks on his own time. It would have been the perfect back up....if Gil didn't shut it down instantly.
“But me giving you money now still guarantees you will get the steaks you want. Just not right now.” Loki seemed a bit confused by the hellhound's sudden outburst. Really he saw no problem with the proposal he had made. Gil wasn't going to get any steak tonight anyway so this was the next best option. So why didn't he want it? “Awww, don't tell me that this isn't just about the steaks. What did you want me to do? Did you want to make me lovingly hand feed you them or something? I don't see any other reason to demand that I give them directly to you.” he teased. It wasn't the smartest of moves for him to keep teasing the hellhound like this but he couldn't help but get a little pay back for Gil being annoying with him in the past. Loki was at least nice enough to not press further so he could figure out a solution to this problem. There were no shops open, and Gil for one reason or another didn't want to take his money for it. So what could he do?
Just as Loki started thinking over what to do Guillotine made a peculiar suggestion. Gil did have a point, if there wasn't any shops open they could just steal what they wanted. Loki couldn't help but grin at the way that Gil made his proposal too. He didn't just lay it out on the table, he was practically daring Loki to do it by calling in his intelligence to pull it off into questioning. Loki wasn't so stupid that he would fall for that ploy but he did take this idea into consideration. It wasn't completely undo able. This little shifter happened to be an ex-thief, so he had no qualms about breaking the law just to get what he wanted. But there were a lot more risks into doing this than he was used to taking. Breaking into a shop meant having to deal with security. Pickpocketing barely ran the risks of setting off alarms when you stuck your hands in someone's pockets. Could he really handle a security system?
“A family business, no cameras, and only one alarm at the front? That might be doable. I'll have to see when we get there. I can't make any promises though. If I don't think I can do it I won't take the risk. And if, god forbid something goes wrong then make a run for it. There is no sense in both of us getting caught in the act. Not like I need to tell you to save yourself. Got it?” Loki would wait for an answer before moving to stand by Gil's side. “Well, what are you waiting for Gilly, lead the way so I can see what I have to work with.”

It felt a bit nice not fighting for once. Sure, Gil still wanted to tear Loki’s throat out, but if he was going to get a steak instead then the hound was all for it. Taking in another long drag of his cigarette the hound began to think about the venture they were about to embark on. If the got caught it could mean trouble for him. Being a PIDA agent he was expected to follow the rules of the city. That meant no stealing, killing, or any other kind of criminal activity. Though, in this instance, he would make sure he wouldn’t be the one leaving fingerprints behind. That’s what Loki was for. He was going to use the little shifter to get what he wanted. Hopefully, the authorities wouldn’t catch on. The hound blew out a cloud of smoke before turning to his new partner in crime.
The hound laughed at Loki’ words. This little shifter was something else. He scratched his chin as if he were actually thinking what he said over. “Hmm, maybe hand feeding me those steaks wouldn’t be such a bad idea.” He said in a teasing tone. He then took another drag of his cigarette. “No, you’ve just caused me so much trouble Loki. I just want you to pay me back in full, and I don’t mean paying me with money. “ The hound then seemed pleased when Loki agreed to assist him with this mission.
“I used to do this shit with my pack all the time when we first came to this planet. I can take care of myself, don’t you worry.” The hound said with a grin, he then lead Loki along. After rounding the corner the two strolled on down a connection of alley ways. “Not too much longer now...” The hound cooed. After finishing his cigarette the beast tossed it aside and continued on. It didn’t take long for the two to reached their destination. After a quick walk through the alley, they trotted down the sidewalk before coming up onto a fairly small store. Looking up, the sigh would reay. “Al’s butcher shop” “This is it!” The hound said he was getting a little excited. He then turned to Loki. “I can follow you inside, but I can’t go into the freezer, Aright? “ There was a reason for this, being cold blooded the hound knew he would die if he did step food into that dreadful freezer. But, he wasn’t about to let Loki know that.

What a strange turn of events. What started off as another potentially dangerous stand off somehow turned into a burglary plot. The fact that Loki wouldn't have to struggle with the inner turmoil of killing Blake's friend was a relief, but what he had to do in exchange to keep that from happening tonight was another story. Was this really a good idea? Breaking into some butchershop for a couple of steaks? Loki didn't have any moral issues about stealing what he needed. He had been a thief before he came to New Orlands. Stealing was the one thing that kept him alive when he found himself trapped in this strange new world. But being a thief the boy learned the hard way how dangerous that lifestyle was. The shifter had put his life on the line countless times just from sticking his hands in the wrong pockets. It was thieving that drove him to live with Azazel now. Loki never thought he would have to slip back to his old ways now that he finally had a place to settle. But here he was once again, plotting to steal. This time using a different method than he was used to, with higher risk, all for a much lower pay off. Was it really worth it?
Well that depended on how much he thought his life was really worth. The whole point of this was to get some steaks to keep big bad and dangerous next to him happy enough to not sink his fangs in his small, fragile, body. Gil wouldn't be happy if Loki tried to back out of this now. The damn hellhound wouldn't even accept Loki paying him off for now. He didn't really understand the objection. In the end Gil would get what he wanted without being cheated, and they could both stay out of trouble tonight. But Gil didn't see it that way. Once the damn hellhound got his mind on something he stuck to it. He wanted Loki to give him steaks, so Loki had to hand deliver them himself. At least he seemed to be in a good mood so Loki decided not to bargain anymore. Though he couldn't help but put his own two cents in when Gil whined about how much trouble the shifter had caused him.
“Me, cause you trouble?” the boy laughed. “Last time I checked you got yourself in trouble. The last fight we had was all your doing. I wasn't the one hunting you down. In fact, I tried to make peace with you.” the shifter reminded Gil. “Though I will admit I have fault to share in our first encounter. I was asked to bring you to Azazel and that is what I did. I would do it again too. Az asked me to do that for him and since I owe him my life messing with you was a fair exchange. I wonder if that would have even happened if you didn't sleep with his mate.” Oh what a dangerous game Loki was playing here and he knew it. There was a good chance that Gil would get mad over what he said but Loki didn't really care. If Gil wanted to play the victim card here he wasn't going to stand for it. Not when the one most likely to lose their life between them happened to be himself. “Let that be a lesson to you in making better decisions. Trying to fight all the time, and pissing people off can lead to very dangerous results. I told you that once before. Doubt you will listen to it again.”
That was Gil's loss. One day he would pay for the stupid decisions he made. But not tonight. Tonight he was going to get fed, and Loki would make sure that it would be steaks that filled the hound's belly instead of himself. Loki followed closely behind Gil as the bigger male led him towards the butchershop. The place they were headed to was surprisingly not too far away from where they were. It took only a few minutes for them to make their way to the place. Loki looked up at the sign, 'Al's Butchershop'. A simple name for a simple looking shop. “This is it huh?” Loki mused as he peered into the store. Gil said that the alarm system was near the front of the store. If Loki was going to even think about doing this he needed to find the damn thing before he tried to set foot in the shop. Alarms were tricky. Even if the boy could find a way to sneak inside he would only have a limited amount of time to get to the alarm and disarm it before it went off. He needed to see what he was dealing with so he knew how to disarm it and judge how much time he might have to do so.
It wasn't hard to find the alarm. The device was placed on the wall next to the front entrance. “So far so good.” the boy said as he pointed out the alarm system. “That alarm over looks manageable. One good snip of a wire and it won't go off. The front part looks like its easy enough to take off to get at the wiring if I can make it to the thing in time.” Could he make it though? That was the question. There was no way to get into the shop from the front entrance without breaking glass to do so. That would definitely set the alarm off before he could even touch it. If he was going to sneak in he'd have to do so from the back. As Loki looked through the window to try and judge how fast he could make it to the front he noticed the dim glow of a light further in. “Looks like we got company.” the boy said. The shop was definitely closed but someone was still there in the back. “The owner might still be in the back cleaning up.” This could be his chance to get in. Loki turned back to Gil before he spoke. “Stay out here for now, I will go around back and see if I can find a way inside without getting spotted. Once I get in and turn the alarm off I will open the door for you.”
Loki didn't bother to wait for an answer before wandering off into the alley behind the store. The boy took a good look around him to make sure that no one would spot him before he shifted into his cat form and sneaked around the back door. He made it just in time to see an old balding man open the door carrying a few garbage bags with him. This was his chance. The moment that the door opened and the old man turned his back Loki dashed in before the door closed on him. Loki quickly hid under the nearest counter before he took a look at his surroundings. The old man had to be the owner of this place. From the looks of the place he was the only person here. He was probably finishing closing up shop for the night and was almost done. The back looked pretty clean, save for the small pile of empty cardboard boxes near the exit. He was throwing things out before he left no doubt. The human would be back soon. Hopefully once the trash was thrown out he would leave for the night, and give Loki the chance to let Gil get in once he was done.
Loki curled up in his hiding spot and watched the human go about his business. The man was so wrapped up on finishing his duties he didn't notice the cat underneath the counter. After a few minutes of waiting the lights turned off, and Loki could hear footsteps heading towards the front door. Was he going to set the alarm and finally leave? Only time would tell. Loki wasn't going to follow the man out. He planned to stay where he was until he was sure the man was far enough away for him to even risk coming out. So he stayed where he was, even after he heard the front door close. He waited a good five minutes then before he risked sticking his head out from his hiding spot. No one was here. Good. Time to check the front. Loki headed out towards the front cautiously, peeking his head out slowly to make sure that he still didn't have company or any potential eyewitnesses about to spot him.
So far things were good. The man was definitely gone now, and there was no one else on the street to see Loki sneaking about. The cat made his way over to the front door, right next to the alarm. He took one last weary look around him before he transformed and got to work. The alarm was a little bit more tricky to open up than he originally thought. He had to pull out his switch blade to use it to help pry the damn thing open before cutting the right wire. But in the end he disarmed it with little trouble. The boy smiled and purred at his accomplishment before pocketing his knife and unlocking the door. Loki poked his head out the door. “Gil. You can come in now.” the boy whispered out as he looked around for the hellhound. Hopefully the damn hell mutt didn't do anything stupid while waiting for him.
